Fanciful POP!
As a child of the 60s, I loved tv shows like Batman and Robin with their “KA-POW” television expletives, and Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In with the “groovy” clothing, flower-power, graffiti and music of that era. Growing up in the SF Bay Area lent itself to extraordinary opportunities “to see and do,” which created a profound love of the arts (thanks mom & dad) and encouraged me to create by hand. I often incorporate found objects into my paintings such as hanger tubes, cut up cereal & tissue boxes, buttons, tree branches and other doo-dads. I feel my life has been enormously enriched by choosing to live a life knee-deep in the most beautiful colors [of paint]!
